Security | Election Program 2023-2024

Safety at a university is paramount, both for students and employees. A university must provide an environment where everyone is free from threats and sexual harassment and where everyone involved feels safe and supported. A safe environment enables students and staff to reach their full potential and achieve the best possible academic performance.

At our university, there is a hotline and a confidant for students who have felt unsafe on our faculty. TBR notices that law students have difficulty finding their way to this. Therefore, TBR pleads for more visibility of the hotline and the confidant. After all, everyone should feel safe at our faculty. Even if the sexually transgressive behavior does not take place at the faculty, it should be clear to students where they can turn. TBR is therefore considering advertising this in visible places by means of posters and flyers, so that as many students as possible know where they can go if they have had to deal with an unsafe situation.

Summary

  • Safe faculty for all;
  • Visibility of confidants with flyers and posters.

Security | Election Program 2022-2023

In recent months there has been a great deal of commotion about sexually transgressive behaviour. TBR considers any form of sexually transgressive behaviour inadmissible and it must be possible to report it to an independent body. The university has a contact point and confidential advisers for this purpose. TBR pleads for more visibility of the hotline and the confidants. Everyone should feel safe at our faculty. Even if the sexually harmful behaviour does not take place on the faculty, it must be clear to students where they can turn. TBR is going to set up a step-by-step plan for this. TBR is considering organising an annual assertiveness course that interested parties can take part in.

Of course, we are always open to ideas regarding the safety of our faculty. Please let us know!
